One way that we have been growing in our walks with the Lord is learning how to surround ourselves with Him all throughout the day. Many of us are using a few minutes on the computer to grow. As fun as twitter, facebook, and online shopping can be, they will not fill our lives in the way we are truly looking for. Add the following website into your routine if you need a computer "fix!" You will be blessed.

Being Refined
Malachi 3:3 says:
'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God ..
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: ' He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time.
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'
He smiled at her and answered, ' Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.
Thanks to Destin Brannon for passing this on to us.
God bless you on your journey with Father!

Sitting In Father's Lap
I have recently been encouraged to sit in Father's lap. When I first heard this I thought, "First of all, I don't take a lot of time to sit and second of all, how do I sit in His lap?!" But as I began praying about this He began opening my eyes to this wonderful place that He has for each of us.
He designed us each uniquely and for His purpose. He is the artist and we are His MASTERPIECES! The Creator of the world longs for you to spend time with Him. He longs for a word from you. He longs for you to sit and allow Him to take care of you. Yes, it's true. He wants you to be a little girl again, twirling around for her Daddy.
But in our "busy" world we choose to not allow time to be intentional with Heavenly Daddy. We put most things in front of Him and we are missing out on true life here on earth. He wants us to be loved on by Him. He wants to wrap His loving arms around us and fully satisfy us. He has a place set for us at His table.
He loves you so much! He is jealous for you. Ask Him where your special seat is located at His table. You will be fully satisfied....

Live...
1. Live each day as a gift from God.
2. Live with the end in view.
3. Live to be faithful to Christ.
God gives us a specific number of days on earth. LIVE them with Him as the focus!
"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." I John 4:16

Perspective Is Everything
Numbers 13:30-32
"Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses & said We should go up & take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it. But the men who had gone up with him said, We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are. And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, The Land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size."
Isn't it amazing to see the vastly different perspectives people have in life? Caleb & his buddy, Joshua, looked at life with a God-centered point of view. They saw the giants in the land and believed. Our God is bigger than those giants, and He will fight for us. They trusted God to come through for them. God promised to give the Israelites the land and they trusted Him to fulfill His promise.
The other men had a fear-filled perspective. Their eyes were myopically focused on the challenges in front of them. They must have forgotten what God had already done. They seemed to think they were going to have to fight this battle on their own. Unfortunately, the fear factor spread more quickly than the faith factor. Before long, all of the Israelites were filled with the same we-can't-do-it attitude.
What giants are you facing in your life right now? Are you willing to seek God's help & ask Him to give you the strength you need? Faith grows when our eyes are on the Lord and we trust Him to do what we cannot do on our own. Fear grows when our eyes are on ourselves and we forget God is with us. Let's choose today to keep our eyes on the almighty God who loves us and is with us always!
"We have a God who delights in impossibilities." Andrew Murray
"Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man's power ends." George Muller

101st Time
You know when you hear or read a Bible verse 100 times, but for some reason when you read it for the 101st time you hear something totally different? That is how I felt when Beverly read this at the Power Source study:
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29
I always knew the first part, as much as it can be a struggle at times for me, but is was the part in BOLD that jumped out at me recently. It is the ones around us that can either see Jesus in us as we relate to others, or see our selfish nature that says what we want when we want. How I long for my children to hear only loving words come out of my mouth. How I long for my friends, people at church, our new friends at Tuesday lunch, the check-out lady at WalMart, and my husband to hear me encourage others and build them up! That is a tall order, but one that I am CALLED TO DO! Let us encourage one another and spur each other on to speak words of encouragement and love so that those who are listening see us as "different". And that "difference" is that the risen Lord lives and dwells in us and out of our hearts we speak His truth and love!
